About this rug

The weave and the make. This is our classic Boucle weave — a small, tight boucle loop that is long-wearing, easy to live with, and endlessly versatile. Every Poshrug sisal rug is woven from renewable, plant-based sisal fiber, backed with an anti-skid backing to keep it flat and stable, hand-bound with your chosen border, and made to order in the USA. Because it is a natural plant fiber, subtle variation in tone and texture is part of its character — no two rugs are exactly alike, so yours is genuinely one of a kind.
Naturally sustainable. Sisal comes from the agave plant, grown on local farms in Mexico — a fast-renewing, eco-friendly natural fiber from a crop that regrows on a short cycle. It is naturally anti-static and hard-wearing, which is part of why the sisal rug has been a designer and trade favorite for decades.
Built for real rooms. Sisal is one of the most durable natural fiber floor coverings there is — tightly woven, resilient underfoot, and made for high-traffic spaces like living rooms, hallways, dining rooms, and home offices. The Spice color reads calm and neutral, so it grounds a space without competing with your furniture.
Styling. The border gives you an alabaster cotton border — a soft, tone-on-tone edge for a barely-there border. As a rule of thumb, a living-room rug should sit under at least the front legs of your seating; in a dining room, allow room for chairs to slide back while staying on the rug; in a bedroom, let it extend beyond the sides of the bed.
Care. Sisal is a dry-use, indoor rug. Vacuum regularly and blot spills immediately with a dry cloth — do not saturate, steam, or wet-clean, as excess moisture can mark natural fiber. Keep it in dry, indoor spaces and rotate occasionally for even wear.
