About Us
Our Story
Two Friends. One Vision. A Decade of Rugs.
We started Poshrug in 2016 because we couldn’t find the cowhide patchwork rug we wanted. So we made it ourselves.
How It Began
We’re Anna and Lisa — two best friends with a shared obsession for interior design and a deep appreciation for rugs that actually mean something. In 2014, we were searching for a cowhide patchwork rug that combined bold geometric design with real quality. What we found instead were rugs that were balding, poorly padded, and inconsistent.
So we spent the next two years learning how to make them right. By 2016, Poshrug was born — and we haven’t looked back since.
How We Make Our Rugs
Every cowhide patchwork rug is handmade by skilled artisans at our own manufacturing facility. We source our hides from ethical, sustainable suppliers in Brazil and India, selecting only hides that meet our standards for texture, color, and consistency.
Each rug goes through a meticulous process: hide selection and preparation (2–5 days), sun-drying where colors are part of the design, hand-cutting each patch, and hand-sewing them into the finished piece (another 2–5 days). From order to your door, allow 3–4 weeks — then your rug ships via FedEx and arrives in 5–7 business days.
Not sure about a design? Ask us for a sample — every sample is made to order, 2 ft × 2 ft, so you see exactly what you’re getting before committing.
Why Cowhide?
Cowhide rugs are naturally hypoallergenic, easy to clean, and built to last decades. Each hide carries its own unique markings and coloring — which means every rug we make is genuinely one of a kind. Beyond function, they bring an organic warmth and texture to a room that synthetic materials simply can’t replicate.
